IMPORTANT INFORMATION
ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER

BOIL WATER NOTICE

A distribution sample within Country Walk Utilities

 Drinking Water
System

Tested Positive for Fecal Contamination

Your water system
detected fecal indicators (E. coli) in
a distribution sample collected on July 15, 2024.   As our
customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we are doing to
correct this situation. On July 17, 2024, we learned that a distribution water
sample collected on July 15, 2024, was positive for a fecal indicator (E. coli).  We are now conducting additional sampling of
the well and distribution system to determine the extent of the problem and are
conducting a thorough investigation to determine the source of the
contamination.

What should I do?
What does this mean?

  • DO NOT DRINK THE
    WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST.

Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it
cool before using, or use bottled water.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice,
brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further
    notice.  Boiling kills bacteria and
    other organisms in the water.

  • E. coli are
bacteria whose presence indicates that the water may be contaminated with
human or animal waste.  Microbes in
these wastes can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other
symptoms.  They may pose a special
health risk for infants, young children, and people with severely
    compromised immune systems.

  • The symptoms
above are not caused only by organisms in drinking water.  If you experience any of these symptoms
and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice.  People at increased risk should seek
advice about drinking water from their health care providers.

 What is being done?

  • Bacterial
contamination can occur when increased run-off enters the drinking water
source (for example, following heavy rains).  It can also happen due to a break in the
distribution system (pipes) or a failure in the water treatment process.

  • For more
information, please contact US Water Services at 866-753-8292.  For General guidelines on ways to lessen
the risk of infection by microbes are available from the EPA Safe Drinking
    Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791

Lakeside Waterworks and Pine Harbour Waterworks – Water Outage/Precautionary Boil Water Notice

Due to a lightning strike that caused a fire at the Duke Energy power substation power was knocked out to the entire area. They have currently been able to supply single phase electric to homes and are currently working to repair the three phase electric needed to run commercial accounts ie: water plants. As soon as power is restored to the plants we will assess to determine there’s no further damage at each plant and water service will be restored. At which time each community will be on a Precautionary Boil Water Notice due to drop in pressure throughout the systems. This is a precautionary step that FDEP requires. Once 2 day bacteriological samples have been determined to be satisfactory a rescission will be issued.

Brendenwood Precautionary Boil Water Notice 5/30/2024

All of Brendenwood is on a Precautionary Boil Water Notice, this is due to a malfunction with the new well pump. Crews are on site and the well pump company is enroute to replace the pump. This may take several hours to complete. Once water has been restored the system will be under the Precautionary Boil Water Notice until the laboratory confirms that bacteriological clearance samples are satisfactory. Rescission notices will be posted by door hangers and here at this site. We apologize for any inconvenience this outage may cause.
